We all know dan has some design chops. I find out yesterday that Mister has some too.
I know that in some sense, this is something you get better at by just doing it. However, I can think I did just fine, and then come back 3 months later to review something and realize that it's complete crap. Part of this is that I don't have the tools (in my head) to quantify how good something is.
Is this really something that I just need to learn slowly, building my own sense, or is there a way off accelerating my learning so that I'm not on the brink of retirement before I hit "adequate"?

Hey thanks!
Dan's definitely got some design skills. I was going to steal one of his designs for this handout, as a matter of fact.
I'm not sure if this summer program is quite what you're looking for, but it arrived in my housemate's e-mail earlier this week.
The e-mail itself isn't the most comment friendly--I don't have enough information to feel comfortable summarizing.
I forwarded it Dan already, but am going to leave the whole thing here so others can see it too.
(It happens to be the one week this summer when I have unchangeable family plans. Bummer for me, but maybe it ups your chance of getting in.)
